Welcome back to our third newsletter! Today, we’re diving into something really special: the story behind KINIKORA, the meaning of our name, and, of course, introducing you to your guides—Kini (our adorable mascot 🦙) and me, Joy

What Does KINIKORA Mean? 🤔

Our name, KINIKORA, is a playful combination of two Korean-inspired words

• “kini” (끼니): A Korean word that means a meal or a snack, symbolizing nourishment, love, and care.

• “Kora” (코라): A short and fun take on “Korea,” representing our roots and inspiration.

Together, KINIKORA represents “a meal served with care, inspired by Korea.”

What is “kini” Anyway? 🍽️

In Korean, “끼니” (Kkini) isn’t just about eating—it’s about care, connection, and love through food. Here’s how it’s used in everyday life

1. A meal :

   1. “한 끼” (han kini) means “one meal,” whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

   2. Example: “Did you eat your morning kini?”

2. A snack:

   1. In between meals? That’s called “끼니 사이 간식” (kini-sai gansik)—a snack between meals.

3. Self-care and care for others:

   1. “끼니를 챙기다” (kini-reul chaenggida) means to take care of yourself or someone else by making sure they eat well. It’s a warm, thoughtful act of love.

Food in Korea isn’t just about filling your stomach; it’s about filling your heart, too. That’s the kind of warmth we want to bring to every dish we serve.
